Founder and President
With a degree in Fine Arts from the New School for Social Research in New York and a Master’s in Management Functions from the ESADE business school, she is a cultural manager, independent curator, photographer’s agent, editor and professor of documentary photography. She has directed Photographic Social Vision since its foundation in 2001. Her professional experience begins as an exhibition coordinator at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and continues at the Center for Contemporary Culture in Barcelona.
As a graphic editor, she has collaborated with the magazines Ojodepez, La Maleta de Portbou and the Blume publishing house and since 2020 she has been part of the graphic editing table of the Archivo Covid project.
He has taught at the Gris Art school in Barcelona, at IDEP, the IEFC, at EFTI in Madrid and at the Masterclasses organized by the World Press Photo Foundation in Europe and Latin America. She has been a jury for the FNAC 2015 and 2017 Young Talent Awards, the LUX Awards, the POY Latam and the Luis Valtueña Award 2020. She is a nominator of young talent for the Joop Swart Masterclass scholarships in Amsterdam, for the Incipiens Albert Camus scholarship and for the Leica LOBA AWARD. In 2018 she was Secretary of the Jury of the World Press Photo Awards in the Netherlands.
As a representative and agent of photographers, it offers authors, archives and collections consultancy and agency services for better management and development of photographic heritage. Its clients include the Joana Biarnés Archive, the Jacques Léonard Family Archive, and the Isabel Azkarate Archive, among others. Since 2014 he has been a member of the Promotion Committee of the National Photography Plan of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia and since 2021 an active member of the Photography and Image Center Platform that claims a Center for Photography in our country at the state level.
Founder and Secretary
It was her interest in personal development, especially that of children and of society’s most vulnerable groups, that motivated her involvement in the founding of Photographic Social Vision. Vera has had a multifaceted career as businesswoman, executive, and consultant: co-founder of Kukis-Fiesta, a leader in the production of decorated cookies in Spain, she has also been director of organization and development at Caprobo and consultant to the prestigious international human resources firm of Watson Wyatt. A lawyer with a specialization in business law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and an MBA from IESE Business School, she is currently finishing her degree in psychology. Her goal is to continue developing initiatives on behalf of the youngest and poorest members of our society. Born in Madrid, she lives in Barcelona with her husband and four children.
Member of the Board
Graduated with a degree in modern history from the Universidad Central de Barcelona. Director since 1989 of Editorial Blume, a publishing house founded over forty-five years ago which focuses on photojournalism, photography, and art, among other subjects. Its catalogue includes titles by numerous internationally renowned photographers, including Gervasio Sánchez, Sandra Balsells, Miquel Dewever-Plana, Andoni Canela, Rena Effendi, Karl de Keyser, Kim Manresa, Gideon Mendel, Richard Misrach, Susan Meiselas, Lana Slezic, and Pepe Navarro, in addition to many others. Leopoldo is a member of the Premio Europeo de Editores de Fotografía (EPAP) and has served on the juries of numerous photography awards in Spain.
