Personal Landscapes

Aimed at developing the resources needed to use photography as a tool for personal expression, the workshop proposed different ludic activities in which participants could exercise their vision by photographing their everyday surroundings. Thus, they went from the “I was here” photo to an attempt to see images as vehicles of expression of what they were feeling. The editing of the photographs was an essential part of the workshop, as each participant was encouraged to create an individual, personal cartography that would connect with those of the others.

Participating in the workshop were twenty young people, both male and female, between the ages of sixteen and twenty-three, from places as diverse as Guinea, Pakistan, Ecuador, Morocco, Senegal, and India, all with widely differing backgrounds.
