The session

Editing wisely documentary photography projects it’s the first step to be a succesful storyteller. Good photographers should not only create good images, but know how to tell stories with them.

The photographic edition is the process of selecting images in order to tell a story through photography. This selection begins even before shooting, so you have to choose well what images you need to take whenever you are on the ground, according to the story you want to tell.

 

Silvia Omedes

She holds a BA in Fine Arts from the New School for Social Research in New York and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the ESADE business school. She is a cultural manager, independent curator, photographers agent, editor and documentary photography teacher. She directs Photographic Social Vision since its foundation in 2001. She was an exhibition coordinator at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and at the Contemporary Culture Center of Barcelona.
